I really try to give more positive reviews, and the doughnuts we got where very good, but I was very disappointed in the service. I could see the two young men in the back packing the orders, and they where very engaged in some discussion about school. So much so after he packs my order, he leaves it there turns and proceeds to continue his point to the other young man. I just watched and timed how long before he stopped and turned back to my box of donuts. It took him. Sad to say it took him 5 times longer to get back work. Then it took to pack the ordered.
Stopped by and got 6 donuts this morning...I’m pretty sure they were leftover from the day before because every single one was stale.
The donuts are excellent but make sure you go on line and place your order the night before
They used to be much better. Now not so good. I hope they figure it out soon
I will NEVER spend another dime at this business. I arrived at this location and got in the line on the sidewalk and proceeded to wait for 20 minutes, no big deal I thought the customers were taking a long time to select their donuts. No, I was wrong as soon as I walked in I realized why it was taking so long. There were 3 teenagers packing the donut boxes and one taking the orders. The 3 teens in the back were goofy off like I have never seen in a business before. They all had longer hair with no hair nets, no mask and I’m more worried about them spitting on my donuts because they were talking SO much and laughing. We had to wait for 30 minutes after we ordered. Then I get home and my order was not right. While I waited I saw 8 people get out of line and leave. These donuts are the equivalent to store bought ones. $25 waisted. You are better off going next door to food lion and getting donuts.
Great food great staff
Awesome apple fritters and the donut cinnamon rolls are amazing
Great little donut shop. Loved the cookie donut and apple fritter.
A let down. Don’t get me wrong, they were okay, just not what I remembered from my visit two years ago when they were located by the pier. Back then, we road our bikes 7 miles round trip for our morning donut. We got them 4 different times during our week vacation. This year, one time was plenty. They just don’t seem to be the same product. Their long john style maple bacon (pictured in the review) no longer exist. Disappointed.
Good safe setup and good doughnuts
I got there at 7:45am, waited for about 30 minutes outside. When I got inside (with Covid, only 6 people are allowed in at a time) I waited another 10 minutes and still hadn't even placed my order yet and the 5 people who had gone in before me were standing around waiting for their donuts. I waited another 5 minutes, still hadn't placed an order and so I left. Definately order ahead. I watched the donuts being handled, there were three people upfront handling food. One wasn't wearing gloves, handling food, answering the phone and flipping his long hair around with no hair net. Another one put gloves on and then touched his face and adjusted his mask. I have seen worse (I work in kitchens), but it just doesn't sit well.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! If I could give 0 stars that's what I would rate this place. These are not made daily & definitely not fresh. I spent almost 30 dollars on a box of these & they are all hard & stailed tasting. I think they may have been fresh 3-4 days ago. A new doughnut shop is needed in Emerald isle! Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts!
The donuts were okay. Not worth the almost hour wait. 3 kids were packing donuts with taking masks on and off and drinking over orders. Kid with longer blond hair kept putting his fingers through his hair and then touching food, he was wearing gloves on one hand but hair needs to be tied back. Kids were joking and playing around and not really working. If we needed to wait for donuts to be made it would have been nice for them to announce it. Not going to return here due to unnecessary waiting and lack of cleanliness.
Holy cow awesome! You gotta try the fruity pebbles donut!
The day we went in the morning crew could have cared less that there was a long line of people. We waited nearly 15 minutes and the line didn't move once. I hate to say this, but if you don't want to wait 30+ minutes for your doughnuts just go to the grocery store.
Vanilla cream donuts were good. Coffee donut not so much. Also had two coffees that were so-so. Service was okay. It was slow but they were a little busy first thing in the morning. Been driving all night. So glad they were open when we arrived.
Not a wide variety of donuts, but what they do have is pretty tasty! A tad on the expensive side though.💲 🍩💲
Flip Flops Donut Shop was outstanding. Here in NC on fam vaca and we usually try to hit up a donut plc and found the right one. Great variety and quality was even better.
Overall a solid meh. The donuts were fine but the service left something to be desired.
Really good fresh donuts. They were super busy for a Wednesday morning and it took a while. They do have pre-order.
